SECURE REMOTE ACCESS

Today's businesses have come to be, and are really required to be, more fluid in their operation. Many times, access to company data is needed while employees or management are on the road. The problem that arrises though is that the data somehow must be accessed through an internet connection that doesn't belong to the company which can create a problem with keeping sensitive data from being seen by those who should not have access to it. In information technology, there exist what are normally called VPNs which is an acronym for “Virtual Private Network”. You don't need to know it's inner workings and most likely you don't care, but, what you do care about is that they allow access to your company's network from over the Internet by encrypting the data so that no one else can read the data in transit but at the same time allowing you to see it completely transparent to that secrecy from others. This can be a “Life Saver” at a time when you are perhaps at home but need immediate access to your business's network and data or on a business trip and have the same need. The point is that if you need this kind of access while “on the road” we can set this up for you.

Another problem exists at times that in many instances in the past has been dificult to overcome but now is not only possible but is already in heavy use and this technology is called “Remote Desktop” or “Terminal Services” and does exactly what the name implies, that is, it gives remote access to your Windows Desktop from anywhere you have an Internet connection. There is also a major side benefit to this remote desktop technology, and that is that being that it resides on a heavy duty server and transmits your Windows Desktop over a network it is very lightweight in its computer resource needs. This means that as your business's PCs get older and are no longer as responsive as they once were this technology can be used to extend the lives of those PCs. We can even use a different operating system than Windows which doesn't require all the licensing fees that Windows does to provide you with even greater cost savings and at times even better performance over the average Windows PC. What happens is, you and your employees are accessing your Windows Desktop from the server which centalizes the software and data of everyone to that one heavy duty machine so that all the client PCs are doing is to provide the “Picture” of your desktop that actually resides on the server. It is a VERY responsive system and all of our customers that are currently using this technology are quite happy with how “Snappy” their desktop and programs are now in comparison with before the installation.

Let us know if this seems like something you'd like to see in action and see the cost savings for and we'd be happy to get you an estimate on what the upgrade to this system over an upgrade to all your company's PCs would cost you.
